The Guardians Book 5: Grand Master

The Guardians Book 5, which I have decided, after much deliberation, to entitle ‘Grand Master’ draws together events occurring around the galaxy wherein ‘The Guardians’ series is set, and sets the scene for the story’s conclusion.

Some of the characters and scenes that were introduced in book 4, ‘Storm Conjurer’, may appear to be a digression from the main story-line, however, they are integral to the unwinding and final conclusion of the prophecy, which will be made clear in this book.

I have completed re-writing ‘Grand Master’, and am in the process of undertaking the final proofing and polishing. As with book 4, this has taken far longer than expected, with added pressure from uncertainty in my full time employment. I am hoping to publish this, the final book in the series, on or around the 31st March, pending the production of the cover.

Introducing Nikki Broadwell, author of “The Wolf Moon (Wolfmoon Trilogy Book 3)“.

Nikki Broadwell - The Wolf Moon 01Nikki Broadwell - The Wolf Moon 02It is close to the winter solstice when Maeve Lewin’s simple trip to Scotland to re-unite with her mother throws her headlong into a dangerous world.

A prophecy written centuries before seems to describe her as ‘the one’, and despite Maeve’s insistence that this couldn’t possibly be true, her mother and grandmother both agree.

What Maeve doesn’t know is that her boyfriend is part of her destiny, mentioned in the ancient text as ‘the one of noble birth who will stand by her side’. But Harold’s only plan is to join Maeve Scotland for the New Year before the two of them fly home to the States.

The night of the winter solstice brings Maeve face to face with a terrifying reality, but it’s Harold’s arrival that forces her to come to terms with the truth. He seems to have lived in this parallel world before and his part in future events has been sealed as surely as hers.

With dark forces hunting her relentlessly and confronted with a fate  she didn’t choose, Maeve must come to terms with her future and somehow find the strength to fulfill the perilous task set before her.

About this Author
What do you get when you combine an introverted kid with an overactive imagination, with a mom who preferred to read Tolkien and Pearl S. Buck, instead of Goodnight Moon? Apparently an avid fantasy reader and writer!

I can’t think of a better way to spend a few hours (who am I kidding?- a few days) than getting lost in a good story. With just the right plot twists and character development, an author can pull you out of one world and into another.

Living in the PNW for the better half of a decade has greatly influenced my writing. The lush beauty of the natural world often provides the backdrop for my fantasy novels. I enjoy examining what it means to be human and playing with the wide array of possibilities this opens up in my writing. Continue reading
